About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Surf the world around the table

ABOUT ME

We are a family of 7 with 5 children from previous marriages and for us CouchSurfing its about people, not places.

I am Adelaide on Fidbacks

Paulo (47), Adelaide (40), Inês (16), Catarina (15),
Daniela (13), José Pedro and Miguel (12)

We want to show the differences in the world to our children. They have to learn that are different perspectives that have to be respect so they become tolerant adults. People and cultures are not good or bad, are diferents.

PHILOSOPHY

Accept what life gives us

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We do not travel as much as we would like, because with so many children it is almost impossible to find someone to host us. And when we find it, the trip is usually is too expensive.

But if we cannot surf, we can host

Since the beginning was easy to find out that families and especially, big families have a lot of trouble finding a place to stay. So we welcome families of any size who want to visit Lisbon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although we are registered in Couchsurfing.org since 2007, only now we are able to initiate a more active participation

We had already some CouchSurfing experiences, which were very very pleasant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Help illegal immigrants to get legal so they can be human being again.

Share things with people who are in need. And we have so many, right now. The crises hit really hard and is always the same who really pay.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach the Portuguese personality: reserved and introverted during the day, extroverted and sociable at night. Self-indulgent and hedonistic, seeking simple and constant pleasures but complaining all the way. Inquisitive of other cultures, our explorer forefathers gave us the gene of tolerance which allows us to live peacefully in a multicultural city filled with the flavors of the former Asian, African and Latin-American colonies.

Share the Portuguese hospitality. A humble, friendly and always welcoming people. As a famous song says "In a Portuguese house is good, bread and wine on the table, and if someone knocks at the door humbly, always has a sit at the table". And they will feel very ashamed, if someone leaves dissatisfied.

Learn as much as possible. But we have a dream: Learn to sail and then set sail.
