Overview
About Me
I live outside and survive inside.
I love living in Canada, (winter included!) love having 4 seasons, the wide open spaces.
I'm interested in health, wellness, complementary medicine, food, (both making and eating it) nutrition, mindfulness....
I'm passionate about sustainability, and I enjoy connecting people who respect and value the earth. My partner and I spend our summers mountain biking and our winters backcountry skiing (splitboading). We also hike and climb very casually. We are both currently working in Edmonton but try to spend as much time as possible in British Columbia (mostly Revelstoke) with family, and in the Rockies. We have a little old camper dubbed "Kevin" that we have gotten some pretty extensive use out of. I love campfires, good beer and wine, and everyone with a dry sense of humour.
We have two cats, a giant orange boy named Timber, and a little fluffy white girl, Squid, who is blind.
I'm interested in writing and various art mediums but never make enough time for either!
My parents emigrated to Canada from England when they were in their 20's. My mum is spunky and brave, she travelled though Germany and Switzerland working as nanny, and lived in four different countries by herself. We lived in Perth, Australia, until I was five, my youngest sister was born there. I also have an adopted brother and sister, who are Metis Cree and were born in Alberta.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I value connections and people's stories. When I reflect on past travels, it's the people who I have met along the way who resonate as much as the adventures we've had!
I'm new to Couchsurfing, but I love the concept of it and have been informally couchsurfing for several years. (As in meeting other travellers on a trip, staying in touch, and then staying with the other person when you visit each other.) I have a couple of people who I've become really close friends with this way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have pretty eclectic music taste and love live music.
I am terrible at coming up movies and books that I enjoyed off the top of my head, I usually remember them in conversation with someone else. I love to read, and I like books about everyday life ups and downs. I've loved everything by Maeve Binchy. I also love quirky, funny books, especially British humour.
