ABOUT ME

Adele - I'm one of 4 children, naturally independent, patient and enjoy being around lots of people in lively and dynamic living environments. I come from two very laid back parents. I genuinely care a lot about the well-being of all the people I come across in life, and that shows in my warm, approachable and friendly character. Hugo is the most relaxed person I have ever met with a good sense of humour and a caring persona. He likes cinema, sport and cakes.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Adele -I'm trying to spread the word and good vibes of CS and encourage people to get involved to whatever level they can.
Hugo is testing the couchsurfing waters for the first time in Summer 2012...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I happily hosted my first surfer in May 2009 :) CS meet ups in Salvador, Rio, Lisbon. Much to my surprise, I even did a high ropes course with a CSer !!! (obrigada Shaka)
I have introduced Hugo and we hosted 2 surfers last summer in Birmingham. We're going to try surfing in Paris in 2012...

We both like live music (on the hiphop,soul, afrobeat vibe), going to the beach and watching films.
Adele pretends she likes running, we both like swimming in the sea and sitting on beaches.
Food and cooking. Adele volunteers in local community cooking group Brixton People's Kitchen.
Exploration, bike rides, dancing. Scrabble. Taking time to chill out. Areoplanes. Anything "cultural" or a bit different - we are true city folk at heart but really enjoy and appreciate rurality once every so often.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Adele in Sept 2008 - Just last night in Ottawa I spent the night at a little family party with about 30 of us family and friends having just arrived from Lima, Scotland, Brtish Columbia, England, La Paz, California, Montreal etc. But on top of that we represented Swiss, Colombian, Gambian, German and American heritages. 5 Scots played their folk tunes for us in my Aunt's living room. It was an extremley unexpected, but a very fortifying evening. Relaxed, friendly and very memorable.
Hugo saw a 4 leaf clover in Tapada de Ajuda in Lisbon and Halley's Comet when he was six years old.
Adele saw the Northern Lights in Iceland in 2004.

Cornish Pasties have that spare bit of pastry round the edge, cuz back in the olden days the miners of Cornwall (South East England) used to take them down to the coal mines for their lunch. But as mining is a dirty job and there wern't hand sanitizers and wet wipes back then, they used to just eat all the goodness of the pasty (beef, onion, potato in shortcrust pastry), but only up until the ring of pastry and throw away the ring that had had their grubby hands on. Clever eh?
