ABOUT ME

Hi I am Adelyne. I've been living in Martinique (Caribbeans) for 4 years. I come from Paris originally, I also lived in London at some point. I used to be a structural engineer, which I liked, but as I also like to embrace changes, I quit that to become a trainer and coach in personal development. I haven't travelled out of "my comfort zone" since my last trip in Australia 4 years ago, so i'm planning it again, in Mexico this time, for 5 weeks from Cancun to Mexico city in January. I would like to couchsurf in some places as it is a marvelous way to discover places and people. My spanish is just enough to manage travelling, and listen to some conversations. Maybe I'll improve it fast! I'm not a big party person, I am sporty (but not into watching sport), I like having personal conversations, and lots of other things. Hope to meet interesting and respectful people.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy now, Future will come later

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travelled sometimes using CS and it was always lucky encounters leading to random happenings. I started hosting in Paris for a few months and also made lots of local friends there, but quickly I had to stop as my travel plans occupied me. Now in Martinique it is not as easy to organise hosting so I don't do it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started in 2007 in a huge flat in Budapest with an Irish and a Canadian guy; later I found a piece of garden to set my tent in the lake district (UK); I also got plenty of new friends in Paris willing to have fun, and a CS tenant while I was away, so far so good! Then a lot of surfing in New Zealand :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am definitely not a good conversational match when it comes to movies and music; I know nothing about them, but I can enjoy them, which is enough. Books, I read a lot of them, but only once and I tend to forget.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a fire ball in the sky once.
I dipped in the baikal lake.
I decided on a one year travelling at the last minute.
I saw ants transporting a cockroach up a vertical wall (and drop it at the end)
I was adopted by a cat

Teach, Learn, Share

Apart from sciences I do not really have any skill you can put a word on I am afraid.
I like when people explain their own understanding of something, if that makes sense.
I can share a smile: even if you don t get one in return you will never run out of them.
