Pausing 7-year career and go to South America April 2012 and wing it for 1-2 years. Must learn Spanish.

ABOUT ME

Father is a Dutch ex-pat, hence grew up in Bruneii, Holland, Gabon, Colombia, Denmark, Australia.

Have lived in Australia for long time now (+12 years), and since then have only had shorter holidays throughout Asia.

Had a good career so far, pausing engineering for big 1-2 year travels to South America.

Strongly wish to learn a 3rd language fluently and have already spent months at Spanish Classes & Spanish Tapes. True dialogue fluency wont set in until I spend significant time in South America though..

I am not after free accommodation, but staying at somebodies house would be the best way to meet locals and learn more about the country/language. If I do find accommodation like this, I will find ways to keep the karma even (purchase shopping, eat out for dinner, etc).
