About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue.

ABOUT ME

I am actually Brazilian, although I've been in Germany since October '10 (PhD till 2015). I am easy-going, I reckon, and intense. Open, fair, centered... Oh, I am quite resentful! Discovering myself, others, searching new experiences and interesting people. Around here life is peaceful and fortunate, and people's judgment hardly matter.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Not only literally, as it meant during WW, but also in the sense of mind your own life and leave people alone. I do believe in not judging, in letting people do whatever the hell they want... as long as it doesn't hurt anybody.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do love traveling, but work is hard and traveling - though amazing - is often tiring, so when I feel like staying, I host. I've mainly been doing short trips, knowing the surroundings, but when I have the time I also like to do some crazy spontaneous shit (last one being 4 countries in four days, adrift).

Interests

Traveling, nature, people, technology, extreme sports, music, festivals, motorcycles, books, body art (any sort of body expression, really), petite cute woman, exotic food and cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: Nick Hornby's High Fidelity, whatever García Márquez writes, but specially One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera; McCammon's Boy's Life and the Humberto Gessinger's I could never finish because I forgot to pack it when I traveled overseas.

MUSIC: Mostly Brazilian music (MPB, alternative/indie and folk), but also Ben Folds, Damien Rice, Coldplay, Strokes, Artic Monkeys, Keane, Beatles, Lennon, McCartney... and whatever is sung in Spanish (preferably Coti Sorokin, Bebe, Estopa).

MOVIES: Apenas o Fim (BRA), 21 Grams, Amores Perros, Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, Room in Rome (Habitación en Roma), Lovers of the Arctic Circle (Los Amantes del Círculo Polar), Fight Club, Read My Lips (Sur Mes Lèvres), Amélie, Closer, The 1st Butterfly Effect, Killing me Softly, Alone (Issiz adam, TR), L'Auberge Espagnole maybe.

TV: Six Feet Under, Wilfred, United States of Tara, In Treatment, Skins, The 4400, Alias, Big Bang Theory, Dollhouse, Nip/Tuck, Prison Break, Lost, FlashForward, South Park, Simpsons, Shin Chan, Bernd das Brot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sand snowboarding (it is a thing!); Chapada Diamantina; surviving a car crash, a motorcycle crash, a riot and a troublesome childhood; growing up; getting wet in the rain; defending my masters' thesis was pretty amazing too; skinny dipping and whatever else brings magic back to life. Oh, forgot about the blue cave (alfredojunior.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/gruta_azul.jpg).

Teach, Learn, Share

Lesson #1: Think carefully about the shoes you're wearing. I've been through hell in Italy because of an uncomfortable pair.

Lesson #2: Packing is a big part of the journey, do it wisely. You only need one pair of underwear and two pairs of socks... Every time you change them, wash the others. It won't take you 5 min and will save you *lots* of space!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Germany, Spain
