CURRENT MISSION
To see the world.
ABOUT ME
I moved back to Seattle in 2013 after several years in Oregon. My new day job has me working in the realm of corporate fitness, which is a bit of a departure from my previous role as an academic advisor! Things are panning out, but I'm in no rush. Life's a journey.
PHILOSOPHY
"We are the hero of our own story." - Mary McCarthy
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was in Europe for a few months in spring 2010, where I attempted to meet up with fellow CS'ers. While living in Portland, I "met" a future roommate via CS, and we ended up hosting several CouchSurfers throughout our time as roomies.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hung out with several CouchSurfers throughout my time on the community, and I've had the pleasure of hosting people. It's been really great hearing about the different journeys folks are on, like where they grew up and what they hope to do, and on top of that, I love giving new friends a glimpse into my life and city. I hope to do the flip-side in the near future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteered as an English tutor for a month in Madrid, Spain. I lived with a host family, and connected with several American bloggers while I was there, too. After my month there, I traveled for another month and visited friends who were located all over Europe.
In the summer of 2011, I interned at University of the West Indies - St. Augustine, too. I know that's more than one thing, but it was pretty fantastic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a mixed-race female who was raised on the conservative side of Washington state. I left the Wenatchee Valley to go to the rainy/liberal side, and ended up in Bellingham. Since attending university in 2004, my life has changed and my outlooks and perspectives have expanded, and it's all for the best. I've seen life from many different perspectives, and I hope to continue learning more about the people around me, wherever they may be. I'm a firm believer that each person I meet, however briefly, has something important to teach me, whether it's about life or even just about myself. I hope that I can do the same for others.
