About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make my country look better than it is on photos and our people appear nicer than advertised. And be a world nomad.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently a graduate student in Paris trying to squeeze in travel whenever I can (and my budget allows). Usually, I travel by myself. It's fun, contrary to what others think.

When I do, I stay in hostels in order to meet people from different countries and hear their stories over beers and maybe some good food. I love to eat. I sometimes go out of my way to go to a restaurant that has a good rating. It's one thing I am happy to splurge on.

I guess it's about time I try CS and be hosted. That way I can avoid dealing with rowdy and random hostel guests.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't complain about the life you chose to live. If you do, then do something about it.

Earn and travel. Don't just earn. What is your money worth if you're too old to even hop on a plane and see the world?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet so I'm actually quite curious how this thing works. But because I'm a student in some ghost town in France (suburban Paris), I'm afraid I cannot host at the moment.

BUT it would be pretty cool if I could experience CSing. I promise you, eventually, I will host back. I know the meaning of giving back.

Interests

FOOD. I love to eat. I cannot emphasize this enough.

MUSIC. I love to sing. So if you play any instrument and your neighbors won't get pissed at us making noise, then we will make noise.

MUSIC. I love to dance. It gets better (or worse?) when I've had some to drink.

BOOKS. I love to read, especially during weekends. Sit in a coffee shop and just read.

CROSSFIT. Over gym. Anytime.

DRINKING. Beer. Rum. Wine. Maybe a bit of tequila and vodka.

TRAVELING. Maybe 40 countries when I'm 40. Coz it's too late now for 30 by 30.

BEACH. What is not to like about lying under the sun with a drink on one hand?

LANGUAGES. My focus right now is French. Then Spanish. But feel free to teach me others.

FOOTBALL/TENNIS. Though not die hard. So I'm a bigger nerd and music guy than I am a sports one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I went to Vietnam on a 10-day trip in 2014, I landed in Hanoi/Hoi An/Ho Chi Minh with no plan - only my hostel booked and nothing else. The shift from having a totally planned trip, hour by hour, to traveling with nothing but an open mind and more flexibility made all the difference.

Snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Philippines. (Shameless plugging of my country, at the risk of looking like a fool for writing TWO amazing things I've done, instead of just one.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share about the Philippine culture and a bit of history since most people who've traveled to Asia seem to have skipped my country and are unaware of the beauty of it.

I love learning languages, that's what I realized lately so I would love if I could keep improving my French and Spanish, learn the basics of your local language, and maybe teach you some Tagalog.

Let's share travel stories, shall we?

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Macao, Netherlands, Philippines, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
