I'm a hitchhiker too. I do hitchhiking for making my budget parallel to the earth(but now i love hitchhiking verymuch,hitchhiking is emotion❤), i use couchsurfing for connecting new people , i often pitch tent to save my hostel or room cost if i dont get couch host, i do volunteering for the same,

main intention for this trip was to motivate my fellow friend those who don't have sufficient balance to travel.so here i wanted to make them clear that wallet is not necessary thing and our strong mind is needed for fullfilling desire. I wasn't promoting zero budget travelling and i was only trying to make them understand that what u have with u, with that u can fulfill your bucket lists
