Overview
About Me
When I was in high school, I got very sick, both physically and mentally. I realized how short life is, and re-evaluated what I was doing. I quit the pre-med track I was on,picked up a paintbrush and started hanging out with crazy people. Now, back at university, traveling gives me the chance to not feel so stuck.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel any chance I can get. January 2016 I started out the year on a road from Atlanta, Georgia, through Appalachian Alabama, rural Mississippi, a wild night in New Orleans to Cajun country in Louisiana. I got lost enough in Amsterdam that I know my way around, and had a chance to meet my cousins in Norway. My most recent trip I camped along the pow wow trail in the southeastern US and lived without clocks for a month. I'm an anthropologist, so any time I meet new people and experience new things, I get to count it as research. ;)
Interests
I love talking about medicine and disability. I've helped shape the way my school views the constantly sick and want to learn about the dimensions of illness across the world before I start my own non-profit. I also love drawing people!

Music, Movies, and Books
Indie Folk and Classic rock
I was trained in film in high school and like really sophisticated psychological thrillers (but I have a weak spot for really trashy, low budget horrors)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love sketching people. If you have a 30 min-an hour, I can sketch you! I have a very distinctive laugh that fills the room, and a smile that has caused me so much trouble.... But most of all, I have stories, Lots of time in crazy spaces produces great tales, as well as a street performer for a boyfriend and a storybook view of the world.
