About Me

Friendly, social, enthousiastic and like to meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people would be awesome. I love to speak to people because I think people are awesome. Everyone with their own story and experiences that I can learn from or relate to in some way. And one of the things I definitely believe in: I can learn something new every day. From my experiences in life but of course by being in interaction with people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love spending my time at dunes nearby from where I grew up (special place, because there is not a coasthline there) A really amazing place to be with a fresh wind and most of the time quiet to let your thoughts go, to have a conversation or a picknick, flying a kite, to be amazed by the beautiful trees ...

Other to that I like to meet new people in my job, just talk to them when I ride my bike, travel by train or by bus or visit another country to do some volunteering.

I normally meet people by travelling between countries by train and these are nice encounters! (most of the time of course haha) I once met a guy who had a history of being a refugee and we had a nice conversation talking about his experiences. I once met a international student with which I had a great laugh. We had the same kind of humor so we took pictures and funny faces. We had a lot of fun... nice memories. I also met a guy once who had lived in several countries and was trying to find his way. We had a talk about life and what our hopes were. Another time I got to talk with a guy because of the delay of the train and we got to talk about his visit to the Netherlands and just had a nice time talking about all kind of stuff...
I could go on and on and on...

A couple of years ago I've been a volunteer in Ukraine. Those were some nice weeks! Playing with kids, demolishing a building, see some beautiful nature, experience high degrees, buying local food from the market, visiting people and listen to their stories at home, telling a story and being creative how to link a story to reality with art, singing songs in a different language... Had a really nice time with great people

Or tell me about that one time I went to Antwerp with a couple of students. Because they wanted to stay in the pub all of the time, I decided to descover some places on my own. Nice conversations with a bus driver, seeing art in a museum, watching over the water, make some pictures. And the same day I took a wrong bus and ended at the other end of the city. It was an adventure on my own, but won't forget a thing about it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some Dutch, sewing, sketching, drawing, how to ride a bike, cooking a typical Dutch dish et cetera... Or we could just have a chat, watch a great movie and have a laugh together or listen to all kind of music... I also love to play board games so if you are also a fan, be my guest :)
