About Me
Hey there!
I’m a globally curious traveler who’s journeyed through 49 countries (with four new ones in 2025!).
After returning to Couchsurfing in 2026, I’ve realized that travel isn’t just about places—it’s about people. Over time, I’ve come to appreciate how meaningful connections, shared meals, and good conversations can make the world feel smaller and kinder.
By day, I work in healthcare; before that, I was in defense and military consulting(and I was suggested to remove my social profile). Outside of work, I’m an active volunteer—an animal foster, team lead at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and head of events at the Canadian Council of the Blind, and I’ve hosted over 50 community events here in the city. I love art, architecture, local live music, and the joy that comes with healthy living and purposeful spaces.
My home is clean, welcoming, and open to respectful travelers from all backgrounds. I’ll have availability to host guests in January 2026.
Type in my name "Aditya Ahuja Canada", and you can find much about me and my work on the internet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing, to me, is one of the most genuine ways to connect with others. It’s a way to share stories, laughter, and perspectives that remind us how much we all have in common—no matter where we’re from. Hosting gives me a chance to give back some of the kindness I’ve received on the road and to keep the spirit of curiosity and friendship alive, even when I’m not traveling.
I value people who are open-minded, respectful, and genuinely interested in cultural exchange. Whether it’s sharing travel stories over homemade coffee, exploring local art spots, or just relaxing with good music, I’m always happy to create small, meaningful moments that last.

Music, Movies, and Books
My playlists wander freely, folk songs that feel handwritten, classical pieces that breathe like living architecture, and jazz that never tells the same story twice. I love acoustic folk for its honesty, classical music for its patience and precision, and jazz for its beautifully unpredictable conversations. Somewhere between old vinyl crackle, orchestral silence, and late-night improvisation is where my taste lives. I also drift into blues, world music, and experimental sounds when I want to hear what happens outside the rules.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Did not just just visit countries—I completed them by land, moving continuously through geography, culture, and daily life.
2006 — Egypt (with my father)
Traveled extensively across Egypt, exploring the country from ancient cities to remote regions—an early journey that blended family, history, and a deep immersion into one of the world’s oldest civilizations.
2017 — Cuba (entire country)
Drove across all of Cuba, coast to coast and through landlocked regions, experiencing the island far beyond tourist routes—connecting with locals and navigating the country end-to-end.
2020 — Canada (true coast-to-coast)
Completed a full cross-Canada journey: Toronto → Vancouver → Nova Scotia, driving from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, traversing every type of landscape Canada offers—mountains, prairies, forests, and maritime coasts.
2021 — Dominican Republic (entire country)
Explored the Dominican Republic in its entirety, moving through coastal regions and inland areas, gaining a grounded understanding of the country beyond resort culture.
2022 — United States (international road journey)
Drove from Toronto to New Orleans, crossing borders, climates, and cultures—linking Canada to the Deep South through a continuous overland journey.
2024 — Portugal (entire country)
Traveled across Portugal from end to end, covering coastal regions and inland towns, blending slow travel with local life and historical depth.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I bring genuine curiosity, respect, and a love for meaningful conversation. I enjoy sharing travel stories from long overland journeys across countries and continents, as well as listening to and learning from the stories of others. I’m always happy to exchange experiences about culture, history, music, and everyday life.
I can share photography from my travels, stories from the road, and perspectives gained from slow travel and couchsurfing. I value shared meals, good conversation, and moments that turn strangers into friends. I’m independent, clean, and appreciative of any space I’m welcomed into, and I always aim to leave with a story worth remembering for both of us.
