Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting and surfing. I created a group for esperantist-vegetarians. I try to participate in some local CS-events, but there is hardly time for that.
Nov. 2009, Sept-Oct. 2010, June-July 2012, March-April 2013: I taught Esperanto in Indonesia (and in 2012 and 2013 also in KL and in 2013 also in East Timor), also to CS-ers. In August-September 2014 I taught Esperanto in East Timor.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I host rather seldom now because I'm so busy, but have hosted more before.
July 2009: I was a CS-guest for the first time... and really enjoyed it.
I've also hosted and surfed through HospitalityClub and Pasporta Servo. You can find me as 'Adjovi' on www.hospitalityclub.com. More information on Pasporta Servo is to be found on http://www.tejo.org/eo/ps_lingv_en.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: mostly non-fiction, about Indonesia or Africa. For the moment I'm reading a lot about Indonesian colonial history, East-Timor, and the Kongo Kingdom.
Music: very broad: African music, salsa, French chanson, rock 'n roll... but no electronic music, house etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived for almost a year in Indonesia and went to school in Jakarta (SMA 34 Pondok Labu...)
Went to Gambia overland (by van), which meant crossing the desert in Mauretania, made me sick, but it was worth it...
Teaching Esperanto in Indonesia... saw the movement growing from just a few individuals to some active groups in just a few years... Organised the first Indonesian Esperanto congress, held in April 2013.
Started the Esperanto-movement in East Timor.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm ready to teach the basics of this wonderful language Esperanto when you come over, but if you're not interested, I can also not mention it at all...
I can tell you about veganism and vegetarianism or how to cook vegan.
I'd like to practise some Portuguese, but also love to speak Esperanto and Indonesian.
What I Can Share with Hosts
knowledge about Indonesia, Africa, East-Timor, veganism...
