Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
bringing electricity to people who live without it
ABOUT ME
I love...
...talking to people, exploring local places, eating street food, learning languages, doing odd jobs, surprises, unexpected meetings, finding brand new music, being spoiled, craft beer & coffee, cycling
PHILOSOPHY
I have no philosophy, letting the life playing with me as I live quite randomly. All good things happen to me once I stop worrying about what I am doing
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I believe people are intrinsically good and I want to pay back the generosity I've received from strangers over the years
I stay at places and let people stay at my place whenever I can
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience encouraged me to travel more - in Stockholm where I met Swedish people and a Tasmanian traveller and I stayed with 8 people in a teeny tiny room
I stayed in Amsterdam with a Dutch guy, who introduced me to a charm of the city and got me ready for my exchange semester there!
Few on New Zealand's South Island, loads in Vietnam & Indonesia because people there have hearts on their hands there!
And one life-saving experience in Hong Kong where I did not need to sleep in a shopping mall, thanks to Ulm!
Music, Movies, and Books
Books where history and a story come together.
My favourites are Steinbeck's East of Eden, Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, the Book Thief, Brave New World and Brothers Karamazov, the Little Life, Burmese heart
My music folder is currently empty, looking for some new music, listening to what people recommend to me
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
getting lost on my bike on the winter streets of Amsterdam; watching a sunrise in Barcelona after no sleep; hitchhiking to Slovenian Alps and sleeping in a tent at the petrol station with snakes around; being swept away during Hurricane Sandy on a rooftop in New York's Brooklyn; waking up on the top of the hill in New Zealand where no one comes; raising my own chickens; living with 6+ people in a huge house in outskirts of Brussels, growing coriander, went camping on my own in snowy Scottish highlands, hiking in the Faroes, attended an unexpected Burmese wedding... Many everyday things are amazing and any time with amazing people is amazing
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you how to make bread and home-made yoghurt if you fancy that! And I could talk with you in Spanish and French (but I will mostly just listen), I could create good impression of Slovakia for you and teach you some useful Slovak vocabulary like "bobor" or "čučoriedka", but basically I want to learn about people and their interests and countries they are from.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a morning tea and oatmeal with you and my time and random talks
