ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Simon, a 24 year old guy from Belgium. I'm getting at that point that's time for me to start seeing a little of that crazy old world, meet and learn from other people and cultures. I think i have all the generation Y symptons,i'm impulsive and quite fast bored and impressed when nature is more powerful then i am. Before Canada i was travelling for 7 months in South-America. Coming to Canada was a childhood dream and it has always been the plan before heading home to visit Canada, but i haven't seen everything what i wanted it to see in the South so now the plan is to work here for the summer or longer an head back South.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did my quite share of hitchhiking and on those trips i stayed a lot of times at people there place, mostly people who were not yet on couchsurfing. Now I feel it's time for me to do something back for the other couchsurfers in the world.

Interests

Documentary filmmaker? It's something i held over from my studies, i really do like to interview people. Examining them, looking for a story behind them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When i was 19 i hitchhiked from Belgium to Istanbul. That was my first big trip on my own and that feeling of complete freedom was something never to forget and probably also will never happen again. Sometimes i crave again for that feeling but goals change.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not going to be the person who will make a citytrip from your stay, i will show you Brussels how i experience it, how i live in it. This is also the way how i prefer to get to know a city. In Flemish we say "Zoeteninval" and that means a family house were everybody just drops by, comes and goes and that's how i enjoy the couchsurf experience as well. As long as it's not too akward, so i will close the toilet door but that's about the limit.
