About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Helping travelers explore my city, meeting people from all over the world on the way, and eventually getting back to backpacking.
ABOUT ME
I work mostly from home, love to bake and to cook, though prefer the former. I'm gay and live in Chicago's gay neighborhood, with a ton of gay bars, and which is, incidentally, directly attached to Wrigleyville, with a ton of sports bars, and Wrigley Field, home of the Cubs.
I live with myself, and definitely enjoy boozing it up on the weekends. With I could travel more often - when I was backpacking through Asia, I had some of the best times I've ever had. Nowadays, I try to do weekend trips visiting friends around the States.
PHILOSOPHY
Wow - this one's a doozie. I think my perspective on things has changed a bit over the years. I'm in sort of a constant pursuit of truth and greater understanding, whatever that is, and wherever that leads me to. I try to keep a balanced perspective on things. Epictetus's Handbook is a good representation of a lot of what I think: http://classics.mit.edu/Epictetus/epicench.html
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd love to be able to host folks who need a place to stay in Chicago. I love the city I live in, and my neighborhood, and would love to allow other folks to experience it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately, none yet! I have a bunch of friends who have used the site, and although I have been registered for a while, I really haven't used the site. But, I have an awesome couch, and hope others get the change to use it!
Interests
Well wish I could travel more often - love to bake - used to be a Perl programmer - like to go out to the bars and drink on the weekends. Watch SciFi!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I always go back to my travels through Asia, specifically to Laos. Something about that country is just spectacular.
Teach, Learn, Share
How about bread. If you've never made a yeast bread, it's not that hard, and it's amazing to see the product of your efforts. Come bake with me!
