About Me

I'm a photojournalist, originally from Northern California but now living in Amsterdam. I've spent a lot of time exploring the United States wilderness and National Parks, most often with my dog by my side. I've done a lot of volunteer work with dog shelters and rescues, photographing adoptable pets to raise their chances of finding a home.

I've been living in the Netherlands since November 2017, and since then have spent a good amount of time exploring Holland and a few other European countries.
Travel and photography are my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for safe places to stay during my travels. Due to my health, I need places that are quiet/calm enough for me to rest. I'm not a stay-up-late, noisy, party person - but when I'm at home I do like to do exciting things like take naps, read books, and edit photos!

I love to meet locals, as I learned early on in my travels that this is the best way to get to know an area! Locals are the ones who know the history of a place.

I'm wanting to learn Dutch, and would love to meet people interested in teaching it :) I can teach English and American Sign Language, along with photography, animal care and training, etc.

I also enjoy sharing and educating about my own culture and home state of California.

Interests

I was a natural sciences major, until I dropped out of college & quit my job to live as a nomad. Now I study the world around me with my camera.
