Overview
About Me
From the North West of England but spent 4 years living and working in London, until I jacked in work and packed my belongings into a backpack.
With my girlfriend Alisha I spent the past 12 months travelling in South East Asia, roadtripping across Australia (living in the back of a '96 station wagon), and exploring Central Europe and the Balkans.
Now back in Manchester, settled into a new apartment, and happy to host once again.
Manchester is in my opinion one of the most underrated cities in the world. What it may lack in terms of iconic landmarks it makes up for in character, history, and an amazing music scene. I love it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Great way to meet people whilst travelling, and to get recommendations on how to make the most of your time in a city from someone who knows the place inside out.
Love chatting to people about places we've travelled to, or hope to go in the future. Couchsurfing is a great way to welcome people into your home and share stories and experiences.
Interests
I enjoy going to see live music of any kind, whether it be a local indie band or a techno party into the early hours of tomorrow.
Love trying different foods from around the world, although I am a life-long pescetarian. Now trying to go fully vegetarian.
Hiking is the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, so I try to head out into the countryside every so often. There are some really nice places to walk within a train ride of Manchester.
I'm also really into football - more specifically the red side of Manchester...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Favourite artists include Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Neil Young, Oasis, Rolling Stones. I also love electronic music and whenever I'm doing work of any sort love to listen to a Boiler Room set as I go. My favourite DJs/producers right now are Floating Points, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Ben UFO, Joy Orbison, Four Tet.
Movies: Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, The Departed, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, Superbad, Kevin & Perry Go Large. Love a gritty British thriller too - Dead Man's Shoes, This is England.
Books: I love travel writing as I found lots of inspiration for this before setting off for Asia and Australia. Also anything that reads kind of like a movie script, i.e. lots of dialogue. Crime thrillers and dystopia go down well. Handmaids Tale, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, Shantaram, 1984 are all recent favourites.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always up for a jam session on the guitar if you've got one lying around. I certainly do, once I'm able to host again.
Learning about different cultures is the best thing about travelling and meeting people from all corners of the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can rustle up a decent vegetarian meal or two during my stay with you.
