Overview
About Me
I am a musician and composer living and working in the nice city of Leipzig.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I´ve always been interested in other people so I like to meet and exchange. And: How can you dive into another culture better than staying w/ sb for a while, sharing time and place?
Interests
My basic interest is music. I compose in the field of new music, I play trombone (mostly improvised and jazz music), I listen a lot to and read about music.
Then I also like to read books (novels, sometimes philosophy, music theory of course, non-fiction, i.e. fact books, politics and so forth) when I have time and leisure - when the sun is shining I love to read in the park, having a coffee at the same time.
Besides music and reading I like social life, meaning going out with friends, for coffee oder beer, going to concerts, the movies, theatre, etc. or just going out dancing (and drinking beer).
Another topic I am interested in and which I´m getting more (also actively) involved in is politics.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just to name a few:
Composers: Beethoven, Schumann, Schoenberg, Stockhausen, Ferneyhough, ...
Authors: Beckett, Jarry, Kafka, Sartre, Sterne, ...
Movies by: W. Allen, Fassbinder, Godard, Jarmusch, Tarantino, ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been swallowed by a whale, living in its stomach for a week, eating what he ate, and beeing disgorged by it on a lonely island somewhere south. I have struggled my way back to europe, experiencing loads of adventures and fighting many evildoers.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can surely teach you some German, tell you where to go to in Leipzig (f.e. the non-tourists bars) and tell you about twelve tone technique (or my newly bought socks). When it comes to learning, it´s difficult since I already know everything. Or differently spoken: I am willing to learn (almost) everything, so tell me about yourself and I´ll get to know you and your interests.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, I live in a rather small one-room apartment, but what I can share is a couch, covers and sheets and, if needed, another matrace that is currently in my basement. Furthermore I can share food and drinks and we can go out together at night (since during daytime I often have to work, sometimes even out of town).
