Overview
About Me
My favorite question - describe yourself ;-)
How do I see myself - I think I rather take a risk with the possibility of winning than stay safe being sure not to lose. I try to learn from mistakes of the past but not to regret them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I visit a new town or even country of course I can set myself up in a hostel or hotel but I consider this rather sterile. I prefer getting to know the PEOPLE - not only the buildings and sights because only the people complete a place's identity. So having someone around who can introduce me to a city in a way they see it seems the perfect way to me to approach a new surrounding. If I get the opportunity to be a host myself I'll try to provide the same for the visitor.
Interests
Right now I'm involved in building a race car (it's actually gonna race ;-) )as an extracurricular activity, I play the trumpet, like sports (especially soccer) and love everything thats has to do with the golden age of the 1920's
- concerts
- clubbing
- trumpet
- opera
- cycling
- skydiving
- sports
- soccer
- mountains
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love Jazz, but I'm also into Classic and the music of the 70's and 80's like Supertramp and Toto
Movies: Really hard to say - I enjoy trashy action movies but also movies to make you think and laugh - so nearly any kind
Books: I like Dostojevski (Crime and Punishment) and Tolstoi (War and Peace), but I also Hemingway and Goethe
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
These are my favorite memories of my past travels - maybe you've done more exciting things, but for sure you've done different: ;-)
- A Greek friend took me on a bike trip on a peninsula - we arrived at night at the southernmost point and were welcomed by the most amazing view: the stars above and the sea ahead which was sparkling because of a phenomenon called bioluminescence (had never heard of it before) - of course we took a night bathe ;-)
- Went skydiving in the Greek mountains
-Made a roadtrip from Seattle to Denver and back again
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't think too much about what I can teach. I say what I think and if people profit by what I say I'm happy with it. On the other hand I try to make other people's good thoughts mine as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm easy to handle - I'll join almost any activity like going to concerts, bars, clubs, the opera house, sports - whatever is fun :-)
