Overview
About Me
Hey! I’m Adrian, a Filipino student from Manila currently traveling around Europe (though technically I’m supposed to be studying). Most days, I’m balancing life between deadlines and getting lost in new cities while pretending to have things under control. I’m a bit quiet at first, but I genuinely enjoy good conversations, random adventures, and the kind of moments that turn into great (and funny!) stories later on. I try everything at least once! I love exploring nature and staying active. I box, boulder, hike or catch F1 races when I can. Cooking and baking are my favorite stress relievers. Nothing beats sharing a home-cooked meal or freshly baked something after a long day.
I’m a big fan of street food, tea, and iced coffee, and I’ll never say no to a local food market or a random trip. Want to visit a small town in the middle of nowhere? Count me in. Just ask the people I’ve met along the way!
Fun fact - I can’t swim, which is a bit of a disgrace for someone who grew up surrounded by islands and beaches. But hey, I make up for it by being the one to pack food and stories on every trip.
Oh, I also move around every few months, so catch me if you can! When I’m not exploring or stressing out over uni, you’ll probably find me hanging out with friends, watching random movies, or contemplating life aka daydreaming about my next adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people is one of the best ways to truly understand a country. I love exchanging stories, ideas, and cultural perspectives. It’s amazing how much we can learn about ourselves and the world through a simple conversation shared over food or tea!
One of my favorite memories from traveling was saying yes to a spontaneous trip to the coast of Morocco. I ended up spending three days with people I’d just met, exploring new towns, chilling by the beach, drinking endless tea, and talking about life. What started as a random adventure turned into a lasting friendship… and a bunch of inside jokes none of us will ever forget. That’s exactly what I love about this community.
Couchsurfing continuously reminds me that the best experiences usually start with a spontaneous “why not?”. These small, meaningful moments and random encounters remind us how connected we all really are, wherever we go...and can even lead to connections that stay with us long after the trip ends!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to almost anything - rock, folk, rap, pop, or whatever song fits the mood. I’m always curious about foreign music, so my Spotify playlist is just a bunch of songs I heard from the places I've been to and beyond! (send me your local song recommendation please! For the PH, listen to Stupid Love lol)
Movie rec: Velocipastor (you’ll get it when you watch it), I like any film though tbh (throwback to the time I watched like 600 movies in a year lol)
I’m not much of a reader these days, but the last book I finished was War and Peace. Took a while, but I made it through!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Founded an animal welfare organization at uni.
- Jumped off a cliff into a deep river even though I’m afraid of heights—and can’t swim.
- Survived life’s challenges (and learned to laugh through them).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love sharing little pieces of home wherever I go. I can teach some basic Filipino, a few easy local recipes (if we can find the right ingredients!), and even some random Filipino card games. I always keep a pack of playing cards with me just in case (did you know that apparently 40% of Filipinos are gamblers? lol)
And if you’re up for it, we can do karaoke, which is basically the Philippine national sport! I can’t promise I’ll hit the right notes, but I can promise you’ll get a good laugh (and maybe some secondhand embarrassment too).
I’m also happy to share what I know about programming or tech if anyone’s curious. But more than that, I enjoy swapping travel stories, learning about other cultures, and finding out how people see the world from their corner of it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A home-cooked Filipino meal, good company over silly card games, late-night laughs, and maybe a karaoke session you’ll never forget! I travel with an open heart (and probably some local snacks too from wherever I am stationed at the time), always hoping to leave behind good memories, good energy and long-lasting friendships too!
