About Me

ABOUT ME

I came to France for a year in 2017 to explore and discover and ended up falling in love with the country and staying! It wasn't a total surprise as I am French-American; my mom is from France, but I grew up in the US.
My absolute favorite thing in the world is that moment when you find yourself fully immersed in a different culture. It's a mixture of wonderment, discomfort, unknown, intrigue, joy-- I don't think there's a better way to learn about the world or about yourself. This is certainly what led me to study anthropology and various languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I’ve been lucky enough to be hosted and guided by wonderful couchsurfers. While I can’t host anyone currently, I can show people around my city and give tips. I love the worldwide connections Couchsurfing creates, and I’m looking forward to being able to participate more on the hosting end eventually.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfered once back in the US in 2014 and started back up in Europe this year. I’ve had nothing but great experiences! Compared to hostel or hotel travel, it creates opportunities to get to discover a new place past just the landmarks and sites. I love finding out what it’s really like to live wherever I’m traveling.

Interests

I love the mountains and the desert. I enjoy spending time outside and gardening. I hike, practice yoga, do ceramics and stained glass, and practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I’m interested in anthropology and learning about people near and far. I am feminist and a mental health activist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a road trip across the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara in Morocco with some friends/classmates in 2013. It's an amazing country, and we marveled at the landscapes from the dusty flat deserts to the lush oases to the sand dunes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic. I can teach you how to make enchiladas and a really good chocolate mousse.
