To experience new people and make new memories, whether through my music or just through living.

ABOUT ME

I'm a singer/songwriter (I have solo music under the name Adrian Glynn and also have a folk music band called The Fugitives ) and I'm also an actor (I've had small/medium parts in shows like Arrow, Supernatural, Smallville and a couple small scenes in The Revenant) . My favourite feeling is finishing a song, or maybe singing one for people. i was in India many years back which is where i got into Couchsurfing. it's hard to write generally about yourself- i'm quiet, but that's before you get to know me. i like talking about ideas with people, and their experiences- i'm a searcher, whether it's spirituality or life philosophy i'm always willing to listen to those wiser than myself (who are many). i'm not a big partyer, but i like to have a few beers with a few people at at time. i love the outdoors, trekking and camping, but i live in the city.

My girlfriend/partner Marlene is also an actor (plus an amazing violin player and burgeoning playwright/screenwriter). She's one of the funniest people I've ever met, loves her cat Sunflower WAY more than me and is the love of my life. We do lots of traveling together, so I may be looking for someone to host both of us together.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I became a believer in the CS movement when I had nothing but AMAZING experiences couchsurfing in India and the Middle East. Unfortunately I can't offer accomodation in my home at the moment, but if I'm in town I'd be happy to go for a coffee or a beer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing but great experiences all over India, in Jordan, in Morocco, in Ecuador, the US, the UK and home in Canada.

I love music- anything written because the writer had to write it, not because he was paid to. Love the mountains and the ocean, though i live in the city.

i like words. so henry miller, jack kerouac- those who bend the language. i like what the indian writers do with it- Rohinton Mistry, Arundhati Roy. read every Irvine Welsh because the characters live and breathe and scream off the page. Also read recently: World According to Garp, Brave New World, Life of Pi, Family Matters, last Harry Potter, Iowa Baseball Confederacy, Razor's Edge, The Namesake, Stolen Continents, Short HIstory of Progress..
music:
anything that's written in fever, from the soul or somewhere near. i avoid the pre-packaged stuff. some favourite flavours: kelly joe phelps. dan bern. tom waits. bob dylan. gillian welch. ryan adams. iron and wine. death cab. ani difranco. jeff buckley. lucinda williams. social distortion. miles davis. michael franti. knaan.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I once paddled a kayak through a pod of about 50 killer whales. I visited the lowest and highest motorable roads in the world in the same year. I taught guitar to youth in the Bombay projects. I've acted in a scene with Leonardo DiCaprio and sang with Glen Hansard and Buffy Saint-Marie.

Music is always a great place to start. If you play or sing, we can play together. I also just love chatting and having a beer or a coffee. I love learning about the history and politics of places that I'm visiting.
