About Me

I'm a cheerful daddy, very inclined to meeting people from different cultures. I have a deep knowledge of the best spots to visit in Rome and I know all the best restaurants and pizzerias. I love so much my home town that my passion for it is transparent.
I work on my own so I could often be available to show you around town (if it's not too hot) or to suggest you the best itineraries depending on how many days you'll be staying in Rome.
I'm 196 cm (6'5") tall and walking around town with me it's like being escorted by a gladiator (or bodyguard)... But don't get scared by my looks, I'm an adorable (straight) teddy bear. ;)
I'm also a Mensa (High I.Q. Society) member: funny and smart conversations guaranteed! I wrote 63 books of jokes (mostly in italian, one in french and one in english, just Google my name). I love to laugh and make other people laugh, I'm often sarcastic and into dark humor. So be aware that I might seem harsh if you can't get sarcasm or don't have a good sense of humor! 😉
If you consider staying at my place or hanging out with me, please BE FLUENT IN ENGLISH (or french)! I can also understand pretty well spanish but I can't speak it. The most embarrassing and frustrating experiences were due to lack of communication with some surfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My current mission is to meet new people, make new friends and possibly, in a near future, to explore the world.
The more you travel, the more people from different countries and cultures you meet and know, the less racist you are. The more you exchange different point of views, the more you become open minded. And, since now, all the people I met through C.S. were really open minded and thoughtful. It was always an enriching experience.

"FASCISM IS CURED BY READING, AND RACISM IS CURED BY TRAVELLING" (Miguel de Unamuno)

Interests

I'm a passionate amateur cook specialised in roman cuisine. I find cooking extremely relaxing and I enjoy the reactions of joy from family and friends when they're tasting what I prepared for them. I like to discover all the best ingredients and to assemble them in the most creative ways. I often create even my own recipes.
I'm an amateur photographer specialized in portraits. I just recently bought a great professional camera and I could take some really cool shots around Rome.
I'm also into everything that is new technologies and internet. Digital and social media marketing, building online communities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My two wonderful children! Just as crazy and funny as I am!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a mountain house in the Appennins (1h45' from Rome) where I usually go hiking during hot summers or skiing in wintertime. When it's my "lonely" weekends (when I'm not with my kids) I can also host over there to experience the mountains (pictures available in my gallery).
I can teach you italian cooking and basic photography. I'm also a rugby coach but I don't know how many surfers would be interested in practising rugby! ;)
Given that I live nearby, I could take surfers to visit the ruins of the harbour of Ostia Antica, off the most common paths but really well preserved and worth visiting. It's the biggest ruins site in the world and I've been there at least 20 times. I've been studying it and I know all of its history:

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great italian cuisine and extremely funny conversations. I'm not vegan nor vegetarian, but if adviced in advance I can cook really delicious vegan or vegetarian meals!
