About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of my first Eurotrip by visiting some of my favourite cities. Up next: Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg and Oktoberfest in Munich!

ABOUT ME

Big city lawyer by day and itinerant free spirit by night and on holidays. I have a heart of gold and a ready smile - love sharing new experiences with the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Je ne regrette rien! I believe in Karma...what you put out there you get back...I treat people the same way. Life is great if you live it with all your heart!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a people person and have travelled all over North and Central America and Europe. My place is a modest sized 1 bedroom w. a very comfy couch located in downtown Toronto - walking distance to all the sights..so if you don't mind tight spaces come check out Canada. I can also host in Belize, but that is only available when I am home in Decembers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as yet, but have slept on loads of friends couches...I can sleep almost anywhere!!! I remember my last trip to New York City. My friend and I rented a room that when we opened the door was just a bed and a sink and very little walking space. At the end of the night we had made loads of friends with no place to stay and it ended up being the 6 of us, a roll in bed and a lot of hope squeezed into this one room. The rum helped I guess!

Interests

My central interest is travelling. I have been all over Canada and it is an amazing country. I also love reading...Edward Rutherford is my favourite author this moment. Finally I love to paint but don't get enough time to do it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing things I have done:
1. Climbing the CN Tower for Breast Cancer. It was the most painful thing I have ever done in my life but I did it in under 20 minutes which is great!
2. The second most amazing thing was climbing Chichen Itza in Mexico...I was so afraid of the heights but overcame it to climb one of the highest pyramids in the world.
3. The absolutely most scary has been snorkelling with sharks off the barrier reef in Belize. I am very afraid of deep water and it took a lot to do this. But I got to see sharks up close, sting rays and beautiful coral!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm, love deep philosophical chats, but can also share my love of Latin American and Caribbean cuisine or take you on a lovely hike in my neighbourhood which is adjacent to one of the largest ravine systems in the world! If all that fails, I can hold your hand and walk you through the wonderful, whimsical world of rum!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Amazing location. If I have time I will show you my favourite parts of Toronto. I ask that if you are in town for more than the days that I agree to host that you have your alternate housing arrangements made. When I agree to a number of days, those are the maximum days I can host. Be respectful of the host's time :-))). I DON'T HOST COUPLES. I generally host only 1 person at a time. I also am not a halfway house if your apartment lease has run out or if you are looking for a home nor am I a hotel to use as your base to leave your luggage. If you have no interest in getting to know me and my Toronto, I suggest you start using AirBnB. Couchsurfing is not for you.
