~ ABOUT ME ~

My name is Adriel. A lot of people think that my name is a bit of Greek, a bit of Italian, a bit of this and that. To be honest, I have no idea as well of its origin. My last name is very hard, but no worries. I can teach you how to pronounce it :-) (hint: you have to roll the "r")

I was born in the small town of Surakarta, Indonesia, and spent my childhood there. I moved to Singapore at the age of 14 to learn English and to attend high school. Since then, I've been quite "moving around" from city to city: Boston, Washington, D.C., New York, London, Rome, and Shanghai.

Currently, I'm working as a Graduate Trainee in Hong Kong.

~ THINGS THAT I LOVE ~

I love roller coasters and theme parks! If you want to check out my blog, it's called One Theme Park At A Time, which you can search with your favorite search engine.

I love food! Good food, good price, good portion. My stomach has never been happier, I think, hehehe...

Most importantly, I love the idea of exploring the unknowns, hence why I love to travel to new places, meet new people, and getting to know them by immersing myself in their culture.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Coming from a rather conservative Indonesian family, I never saw the charm of traveling until the age of 18, when I moved to the U.S. for college. When I was a child, I traveled only for holidays. I traveled only to visit places like Disneyland, Shinjuku, the Merlion, and else.

My perception of traveling has changed. Of course I still travel around the world for holidays too. But today, I see traveling as an opportunity to expand my horizon and knowledge, to interact with the many colors of culture and norms around the world, and to experienced the unexperienced.
