About Me

I was born in Barbados and raised in New York and New Mexico. My dad started teaching at an International boarding school in New Mexico in the late 80's, so my middle and high school years have been filled with interesting people from all over the world.
Throughout my life, I have traveled to Europe, Australia, China and parts of the Middle East. Where possible, I have stayed with friends in many of the cities I have traveled, so I am quite used to the couch surfing mentality. I look forward to making new friends on my travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife and I have decided that we want travel to be a big part of our lives especially as we embark on our big honeymoon trip to South America. We are both self employed and building our businesses, so keeping costs low is essential.

We try our best to be low maintenance. We each only have one backpack of our necessities and a day bag for walking around the cities we land in.

Interests

Art-I love making it, looking at it, talking about it! Art is a huge part of my life and I am always looking for inspiration.
Capoeira-I have been training for almost ten years and am looking to diversify my practice a bit. I spent the first eight years doing Regional and the last two with an Angola group.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nerdy TV Shows and movies, documentaries and anything that makes me think .

The same goes for the books to read. I am fascinated by the human condition and at love reading books that look at humans from an outsider's point of view.

Dance -I love Latin dance, especially Salsa, merengue and bachata. Marin is more into the interpretive dance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I convinced the woman I love to go to China for a year and a half because I knew it would expand her worldview far more than staying with me ever could. Then I went to visit halfway through and proposed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I paint amazing portraits, give great hugs and great conversation.
