Overview
About Me
I'm laid back and calm. I like meeting people because it's always funny to get to know their opinions.
Oh, and I enjoy nature, hiking, cycling and all that stuff. Not that I'm no pro at anything though, I'm just an enthusiast and sometimes clumsy as hell. I like experiencing new things like climbing, scuba diving, mountain trekking, skiing, rafting and much more if I could. I'll be much happier staying late to see the stars than to see a city skyline (not that I dislike it either) but that gives you an idea.
In the professional world I'm an IT guy and I'm just geeky enough to make it kinda cute. I won't blabber on the subject though :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've come to know couchsurfing in some random newspaper and I decided to give it a shot. At first I saw it as economical but I've quickly come to realize couchsurfing is much more than that. You get to know people from all around the world, you step inside their homes, make them food and see their smile when they tell you about where they live or what they have done. Where-else could you have all that? I made friends and I did miss them when I left. If I had something to say against couchsurfing is that afterwards you will feel sad in that emtpy hotel room and you'll regret that horrible couch you stayed the last month.
Interests
I'm curious about almost anything and I'm amazed with little. If I had to highlight some interests I guess I would now say: hiking and nature. Technology and science would also be a good choice.
- dining
- cooking
- technology
- socializing
- cycling
- hiking
- scuba diving
- skiing
- rock climbing
- science
- mountains
Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to great artists and groups like Pink Floyd, The Alan Parsons Project, Sting, Radiohead, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Pixies (for "Where is my Mind", favorite song)... But I also enjoy different styles, from classical to electro-techno.
It's been a while since I've really watched a mind blowing movies, I guess I do like any style except melodramatic movies with all kind of stereotypes.
I do enjoy books, but I'm not the hardcore reader. I tend to not enter the universe if there are too many long and boring descriptions, so I guess, I would say the shorter the better ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not sure about this one, nothing really amazing, I've traveled a bit, climbed one or two mountains and hey, that must be something no?
Teach, Learn, Share
As a computer scientist, I can teach/advise on all kind of computer and networks related things.
I'm usually not too bad at cooking things so try me.
