About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I want to see more of this great land of ours, all the roadside attractions and obscure museums, the great forests and lakes, the libraries and universities, the natural and man-made landmarks, the centers of culture and the quiet small towns. Hello world, here I come!

ABOUT ME

I know San Francisco and its environs very well and like sharing new experiences with new friends. I've traveled to a lot of places in the US, but there are a lot more that I'd like to see. I'm a non-smoker, social drinker, and vegetarian/vegan. I like animals, especially cats.

PHILOSOPHY

I'l try anything twice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've met some great people from all over who stayed with me and we shared lots of laughs and good times, swapping stories and breaking bread. I've just begun to travel and hope to meet lots more fine folks and explore new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't traveled in a while and there's still a lot of places I'd like to see.
I'm here to learn.

Interests

Reading, writing, and film-watching. I like Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Art and
Literature, local history, sight-seeing, warm weather, music, comic books, environmentalism, architecture

I enjoy seeing new places, things, and people. Street fairs, outdoor music festivals, flea markets (I haven't been to a flea market in years! That takes me back), picnics, concerts, art shows, author readings, conventions, film festivals, craft fairs and carnivals are some of my favorite things to do. I enjoy a little hiking as long as it doesn't get to the point that it involves ropes and gear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lived on all of America's coasts except Alaska (and Puerto Rico).

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit about classic films, having studied them; I know more than the average person should about comic books. I'm good with words and a terrific editor and tutor.
I'm very interested in world mythology, particularly western European. I'm not a big fan of politics (I'm open to most points of view; most people I meet aren't, which is why I don't like talking about politics). Same with religion. I don't want to be converted so please don't try.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a strict vegetarian and more or less vegan; I'm happy to share in the cooking and eating of such meals. I have no problem with other people eating whatever they want (as long as it's not me). I would be very happy to be introduced to new places and past-times (that don't involve great physical risk-no sky-diving, thanks) and to support whatever endeavors my host might be engaged in. I can recommend great movies, provide editing services, or give literary readings (I don't really expect anyone to take me up on that one).
