About Me

Self sufficient traveller, and I enjoy meeting new people.

Previously I cycled my way to Hobart. I'm was new to bicycle touring then, so I had to figure it out as I go. It was darned near revolutionary: A slower, less impactfull, efficient and self-sufficient way of travelling, with a built in community of other riders every where you go.

PHILOSOPHY

Wherever you go, that's where you are. Spend your time enjoying where you are and doing what the locals do. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn, so take the time to meet and appreciate the people around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Along with my partner Don Simon I'm finally in a position to maybe sometimes host travellers. You never know your luck.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first semi-official couch surfing experience was staying with Jarred and Luke in Adelaide - it was great!

Interests

I love bushwalking, reading, riding my bicycle. I have a love-hate relationship with art galleries and museums, I enjoy being outdoors, and I love love love to eat. I am also a vegetarian, but I'm not sure if that qualifies as an 'interest'.

Music, Movies, and Books

I play the ukulele! I'm a bit rubbish at it but I'm learning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Niagra falls in winter. A spontaneous jam session in a train carriage. Guinness in Galway. Cargo ship down the Amazon. Dia de los muertos in Mexico. A solar eclipse from Rapa Nui (Easter Island).

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm learning about foraging and edible weeds in my neighbourhood.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook - mostly healthy things with plenty of vegetables, but I'm great at making a meal out of nothing. Wild foraged edible weeds, anyone?

Countries I’ve Visited
