ABOUT ME
"When I first met you, I thought you were a typically loud, obnoxious Aussie guy. But after I got to know you, I knew for sure you were."
I'm an okay bloke too, promise. Iâm sure I can come up with some good qualities that I possess. I can almost hold a handstand for a couple of seconds and I have never been beaten in a jager-bomb sculling competition. Wait! That makes me sound like an uncoordinated, alcoholic. Can I start over?
Two years ago a mate of mine comes to me and says, âLetâs move to London and travel the world.â There I was, working hard to build on my career, saving to buy a house, fill that house with trendy-looking Ikea furniture, park a shiny car in the driveway and maybe even grow a little vegetable patch out the back to feed the possums at night. The Australian dream was full steam ahead. Next comes the wife, the baby, the dog, the second baby, the school tuition, the accidental third baby, the minivan, the house extensions, the kids finally moving out, becoming gray and frail and eventually becoming part of the veggie patch. All of that can wait, I thought and without a momentâs hesitation I say to him, âLetâs do it!â
I now suffer from an unquenchable thirst for travel and an perpetual appetite for having a riot of a time in the process.
I set off from Brisbane, Australia on Feb 2008 leaving our shores for the first time. Since then I have been living out of a backpack only stopping in London a couple of times to fuel the travelers bank balance. To date it has been the most amazing, influential, eye-opening period of my life.
I have backpacked my way through SE Asia and Western/Eastern Europe and have recently took part in a road trip from London to Johannesburg via the middle East.
Right now I am again backpacking, this time on my way home. The plan is to make it from the UK to Malaysia without any flights and then fly home from Kuala Lumpur just in time for Christmas with the family. The path will take me through Scandinavia, Russian, Mongolia, China and into SE Asia.
PHILOSOPHY
"It's a big sky" - Change your life, see the world!Live life one day at a time and don't dwell on something that cannot be changed, just accept it and move on.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am couch-less and living out of a backpack.
However, I can offer to you someone to meet up with and share a traveling tale or two. Send me a message, let's meet up for a drink!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have nothing but praise for the project. I have met great people, had incredible experiences and can't stop recommending it to everyone I meet. I first signed up thinking it would be a great way to save a couple of bucks. Now that I have realised its potential I see what it's really about. It really is a hospitality exchange rather than just a place to rest your head.

Música, películas y libros
Music: I am nothing short of being obsessed with music. My musical tastes cover a wide spectrum which means I can be at a heavy metal concert one night, at a jazz club the next and a trance rave the following night.
My last.fm account keeps track of my listening tastes - http://last.fm/user/adz_
Movies:
2 days in Paris, Juno, One Perfect Day, The life of David Gale, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club
Books: I love reading books that I'll learn something from especially novels based on historical events.
Algo increíble que he hecho
Well I would have to say the biggest adventure I have ever had was driving from London to Johannesburg. Myself and 3 other guys who I met in London, packed a 4WD full of camping gear and a few maps and set off on a 21,000km overland journey through 17 countries. It took us just over 3 months to complete and left us with enough pub tales to keep us sharing stories all night and well into the morning.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
The best way to learn, is to experience. I feel I have learnt more about the world in this last 2 years of travel then I have learnt in the first 24 years of life growing up in Australia. I'm keen to hear other travelers tales of the world and just as eager to share my own.
