Overview
About Me
I am a very easy going and open minded young man. I come from a small town in Ireland called Naas. As I come from a small Irish town, at the age of 17 I began to get cabin fever and moved away down the country for college. It was from here that I was able to start gaining some independence. Learning how to make new friends, cook and clean for myself, budget myself, and start doing the things that I wanted to do.
I spent 4 years living away for college. In my final year, I traveled to Berlin on Erasmus for 5 months. This was the best experience I could have done at this time. It was my next step of learning. It was my first time to live in another country, mix with a completely different culture, be immersed in an unfamiliar environment and see what was out there, beyond my small little Irish town!
After my Erasmus, I returned home to complete college. Upon completion, I worked for a year to save money and then decided to move back to Berlin last June to pursue a more exciting life. Where I currently live and work now.
I would describe myself as a very positive person. I will always try and see the positive and good in things and I hate to see anybody down or in a bad situation and would do all in my power to lend a helping hand. I believe we should all be there for one another and if we come together on situations we can all mutually benefit. In this retrospect, I would also describe myself as a bubbly person and will always try and keep high energy with people. That being said, I am a person who also enjoys my own free time, and a time to collect my own thoughts and tune out. And I am aware that all others like this very much.
For the past year I have been working at a summer camp in Germany called Language Farm. This is a summer camp themed way for German kids to learn English. Each week, we do a number of different activities with the kids such as; theatre, sports, hiking, cooking for a group of over 30 people, playing games, projects (arts and crafts, dancing, building things etc) and taking a leadership rolls with the kids, in addition to helping the kids learn English.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a very open minded person and want to learn so much from other cultures and believe we can learn from people so much. I have had many people that I have become friends with from festivals and so on that I have allowed to stay with me. It is beneficial to both people. Both people learn from the experience of having a random person staying with them, as both people are both obviously going to be open if they are using couch surfing!
Interests
I am a creative person and have a strong passion for music and dancing in particular. From contemporary to hip hop to improvisation contact. I am at my most happiest when dancing around my room! 😁
Things that can be found in my room: many photos of friends and family, a yoga matt and an area where I can stretch and relax, a calendar outlining plans and things to look forward to that month, disco balls (they just make me very, very happy 😝) books, an arts and crafts box containing many craft different things, self made decorations, a designated spot infront of a mirror for me to dance at.
Music, Movies, and Books
Ahhhhh, tough tough question --- too much!! I think this is better discussed in person but musically Funk, Soul, House, Techno, Psychedelic, Groove, Rock.. this is too hard. As with my food and personality, I am very open with my musical tastes! I have musical bones and cannot help but dancing to anything I hear!
With books I am into biographys, diary entry type books, fictional and psychology.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Became a Bollywood star at a wedding in India! !!! ( I will show you the video)
