Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing a new culture, and this site seems to hit two birds with one stone! I hope when I get settled into a place of my own in Montana I will be able to house travelers and share my culture with them.

Interests

Anything and everything outdoors! If I haven't done it already I probably want to give it a try! Some of the outdoor activities I am most fond of are hunting, hiking, camping and commercial fishing. Still trying to master skiing and downhill mountain biking. Sports are also a big part of my life. I participated in 6 varsity sports in high school and my favorite among them was rugby which I continued to play in college.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For three summers I commercial fished for salmon off the coast of southeast Alaska. There are few things in life that I have done that even compare to the rush I get from pulling in thousands of pounds of salmon while on a small boat at the mercy of the ocean. It is one of the things I miss most about life in the big AK.

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to learn anything someone is willing to teach me. Growing up in a small town in Alaska I was sheltered from most other cultures so I am eager to learn and broaden my horizons through travel. Something in particular that I would love to learn is any type of ballroom dance. So if someone would like to teach me a step or two I would be most grateful!
As far as sharing and teaching go I am an open book! I very much enjoy comparing my life experiences with other peoples. If there is something you think I can teach you do not hesitate to ask!
