About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently searching for my passion, my life's work. Also, through my travels, I hope to learn more about myself and the people and cultures around me.

ABOUT ME

I am searching for my passion in life, through which I may contribute to the world in some positive, meaningful way. I love to travel to new places, do new things, and meet amazing and interesting people. I feel that I have a lot to share and a lot to learn from the world and people around me.

PHILOSOPHY

Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I engage in language and cultural exchanges during my travels and create bonds with the people who I am privileged to work with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have Couchsurfed in Portland, Oregon and Arcata, California in 2009. My hosts were incredibly friendly, generous, and hospitable. It was wonderful to connect with fellow travelers and to get a better sense of the places that I was visiting with local insight.

Interests

I absolutely LOVE contra dancing! That's the one down side that I find when traveling because contra doesn't exist everywhere I go. I also love doing volunteer work, as I find it to be much more fulfilling than any of the hourly wage kind of jobs that I have worked. I am also fond of reading, writing, music, hiking, cooking and baking, yoga, and learning.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to just about any genre of music, though I do have some favorite artists. If I haven't heard of it, I'll give it a go.

I'd say that The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is my favorite book because it changed my life. I'm also fond of George Orwell, Rachel Carson, Pablo Neruda, The Inferno, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I'm always interested in discovering new gems.

I do enjoy movies too, especially Dirty Dancing and anything Garfield!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been privileged to witness so many beautiful sunrises and sunsets in amazing places.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught yoga and contra dancing a bit to friends. I'm also a decent baker and cook.

I love to share my writing and hugs.

I would like to learn more about different cultures, bird identification, practical applications of conservation, baking/cooking, and back-country camping and survival.
