About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figuring out, planning ahead

ABOUT ME

I would me describe myself as somebody who is curious about people, and curious about the way things work. People usually describe me as a happy and cheerful guy, don't know what is true about that though.

What certainly is the case is that I am currently living in Hanoi and working for an NGO in the field of energy.

PHILOSOPHY

If I would put it in more sentences it would be something like this:
Live my life in a healthy and environmental friendly way.
Get to know more people, learn from them and get inspired by them.
Learn something new in order to equip myself to do make the world a better place to live
Do my bit to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to meet interesting people from all around the world. I can offer them the opportunity to go for a drink, show them around town or let them experience the dutch way of life. Abroad, I would like to immerse in the cultures other people, and learn from that. It intensifies your holiday experience, if you come closer to the cultures of people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started with a beer in Münster. That was a really nice first experience. An experienced member told me a lot of stuff while showing me areas of the city I wouldn't have gone to otherwise. I also went surfing in Gdansk this summer and this was also a good experience. I once again went to some places where I wouldn't have gone before. During my works for my thesis I stayed a couple of nights in Malmö. Here, Couchsurfing proved to be really an added value. My hosts brought me into contact with people that could help me or lend me a bike. The hosts were really nice. To round it off, I surfed a couch in Copenhagen for one night. For the second part of my thesis work I stayed with Alex in Winchester. As you can see, there is no surfing experience. I can also tell you that I have never requested a couchrequest. I also hosted a couple of people whilst living in Oxford.
