About Me
*****I DO NOT LIVE IN NYC!!!**** I don't know why I show up when ppl search for NYC but I live 3 hours away!!!
ABOUT ME
Happy, friendly, and open person.
I'm Ok at small talk, but I work hard to avoid it.
Most of the time I'm working with kids, or people who act like them so I try to keep in mind that we're all just trying to make it through life and be happy.
I think animals, being outdoors, and being outdoors with animals makes me the happiest.
Although I talk a good deal, I believe strongly in listening and learning.
Currently I spend my days working a lot, hiking, walking dogs, and being in awe of how beautiful the earth still is, despite all that working against it.
I'm a very hard worker, which while it might not be exactly the most sought after trait in a couchserfer or host I think it helps me a pretty good deal in my life. I'm a dependable person and I am enthusiastic about whatever I put my energy into.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined couch surfing while living in Berlin on study abroad for six months and it was a life saver when I traveled. I had my own apartment there and I was also able to meet so many amazing people who I hosted. Now that I'm in a grounded place with various housemates and working two jobs to pay the bills it makes opening my home up a little less casual, but I please send me your requests and I will certainly do all I can to make them happen!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Even in my short time couchsurfing I've had some crazy, amazing, and slightly horrifying experiences. Through it all I've loved it. I still have many friends who are afraid of couch surfing and have no interest in ever trying it- I think they're missing out on an amazing opportunity to reconnect with humanity. Even though I'd been in a few sticky situations, I've always had to think on my feet it's only made me a stronger and more easy going person!
Interests
I love animals (dogs are a special favorite) I really enjoy reading, painting, talking, podcasts, movies, nature, the sun, apples- this list goes on. I like going to concerts, listening to tons of music, and I think everything is only made better if I'm doing it outside. I am open to new experiences, food, drink, (other edible items)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I mostly love comedies or cheezy horror movies that are so bad they're good.
Books- For leisure I'm a big fantasy person, and for serious times I love books about personal journeys.= I'm also an educator of small children so anything that can give me more incite on early childhood or how to be a better teacher/adult is invaluable.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I want to do amazing things in my lifetime and I have done a couple already. I've made it up the Great Wall (a personal fave). I've gotten into/graduated from college. I've made it abroad. I managed to write a paper on T.S. Elliot's The Wasteland. I've almost learned a first and second language. I don't know what else, I hope to always do more!
Teach, Learn, Share
I worked for a good period of time in human services, so I always like talking about trauma and it's repercussions. I could talk a lot about the problems with our education system. Or for a pretty long while about flowers and how to grow things. You choose.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I used to do stand up, and I only say that so I can convince you that I could probably make you laugh at least once.
