About Me
CURRENT MISSION
finding a way to live that suits me best
ABOUT ME
I'm a fun-loving person that get's easily excited about anything. That actually also makes me open to try new things. At the moment I try out a new lifestyle and it feels really good:)
Unfortunately If I REALLY want something I'm not very good at compromising. Guess that's also the reason why I enjoy travelling on my own, because then I can just do what I want;) On the other hand I have the typically Swiss-mentality of wanting all the people around me to be happy.
Altough I think in certain situations I can be shy my friends always tell me that I'm such a open person and I make friends very easily. Guess it's your turn to find that out!
In general I'm a positive person with a special kind of humor (some people would call it dark), that can also have some serious discussions about life, our society, our environment and after a bottle of wine tries to save the whole world;)
PHILOSOPHY
the failure is not the falling down, but the staying down (Mary Pickford); Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference (Robert Frost)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I has some great Couchsurfing encounters in South America. Unfortunately once back home and back in the daily grind, life took over and I forgot about CS. Now I have once again a bit more time on my hand and once I have my own apartment I really want to start hosting people as I love meeting new and inspiring people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Both of my greates couchsurfing-experiences took place in Southamerica!
The first one was a spontanous tent-surfing-kayaking-weekend in the uruguayan countryside. My host wasn't able to host me in Colonia, instead he took me on a weekend-trip I'll never forget. Taking part in a typical uruguayan-weekend-activity with loads of meat and mate in a area of the country that isn't in any guide-book.
The second one was a 2 week on-off-couchsurfing in Santiago de Chile. I soon became part of the flat and felt like the third member of the flatshare. Did you ever go clothes-shopping with your couchsurfing host?;) Needless to say how hard it was for me to leave that city!
Interests
discover new music, going to the pictures (mostly arthouse-films), having some quiet beers at the local bar, being outdoor (climbing, hiking, running, skiing), meeting new and interesting people, reading books and good magazines, planing the next adventure, writing diary, now and then going crazy in a club, taking pictures, looking at maps

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking in winter in Torres del Paine National park (Chile) on my own. I didn't see any people for 2 days, had the whole national park to myself and saw the beautiful towers at sunrise with blue skies in the background!
Ok, that one has to compete with the roadtrip through the Chilean part of Tierra del Fuego!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: How to ski and climb, how to find the way in wilderness with the help of a map and compass, how to pack a backpack for a hiking-trip. How to easiely save some energy. I could teach you Deutsch, English and Español. I guess that's it, unless you want to know how you can calculate a budget for a building-project;)
Learn: As I love to learn new things you can teach me almost anything! Although I would really like to know more how to take pictures, getting my French up-to-date again, how to not spending to much time on that stupid internet andandand
Share: I love to share my information about Southamerica, especially about Patagonia (you don't know what a Huemul is?!?). And I dig political discussion about the current situation on that earth. And environmental discussion too;)
