Overview
About Me
I grew up in Nederland/Boulder Colorado, but I don't smoke weed (I don't mind if you do :-) ) I moved out to Kansas with my fiancé to pursue a permaculture project on his family's land. Neither of us had any experience, but it's always been a dream, so we figured the best way to learn about something (short of teaching it) is to do it!
I'm currently working on a new project with my fiancé, Sage Cook, and a drummer, Weston Hill. It's a multifaceted organization called we dream dawn that encompasses a band (based around Sage's music-him on electric guitar and violin, me on electric bass, Weston on drums), a farm, an artistic community, a future wellness center (physical, mental, emotional/spiritual health), a future intentional community, and an intentional music festival (encorporating performance art, farm to table food, home brew, meditation and yoga, drum circles, writing circles, community building, jamming, lots of music and dancing of course!) I'm a certified yoga instructor and I'm excited to delve deeper into that area of my education and continued learning.
I love having new adventures and learning new things. I'm learning to spin poi and fly on aerial silks, and I love learning about acro yoga whenever I get the chance. I did backflips into the swimming pool on New Years for the first time!!
I also love trading ideas and knowledge about permaculture systems and gardening. Learning to lead a sustainable lifestyle as much as possible is probably highest on my priority list (followed closely by learning how to play music Victor Wooten style :-) and burning down the walls that keep me separate from the world)
Come on out and see what we got going on! We love to trade ideas and hear about other people's paths! (And we don't get many visitors, it's always a breath of fresh air, having company :-) )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Thus far I have only surfed--and only five times all told. Each time was wonderful and interesting and I plan on surfing a lot more in the future. I love that I got to meet people I otherwise would never have crossed paths with. I love that couch surfing makes travel affordable--I couldn't have made the last trip without it. I'm excited to open up my couch to surfers now that we are more established! And I'm excited to learn from and share our vision and inspiration with others!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Stayed at the home of some great people we ran into on an AMAZING 20 mile hike in Big Sur to some hot springs. They showed us San Luis Obispo and we cooked them a curry dinner--was delightful.
Surfed with two people in San Francisco, one in Seattle, and one in Wichita--again, wonderful.
