ABOUT ME
We’re happy to be back as couch surfing hosts after a 5 year hiatus due to a few years in a 200 sq ft apartment in D.C. and 3 years living on a sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay.
Now that we’ve returned to our farm in Vermont we’re excited to be able to host once again.
PHILOSOPHY
It's all the same thing. People are people. We all live together on this small planet. Kim: "My goal is to leave just a kitten heel of a footprint on this earth."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far we have hosted dozens of great couch-surfers from all over the world. We enjoy meeting new people who share our love of travel and life long learning.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have both traveled a great deal throughout our lives, long before the web and the couchsurfing site. We intend to increase our travels in the future as time and "life" permits.
Interests
We love to cook, especially non-western cuisines. Kim owns a private chef company in Washington DC and is always trying out new recipes, so bring your appetite!

Music, Movies, and Books
Documentaries, Children of Heaven, Battle of Algiers, Kandahar, Life is Beautiful, The War, Water, Wazup Rockers. TV: The Bridge, Severance, The Bear, The Killing, The affair. Music: Kingande, Enigma, Midnight Oil, Niel Young, Pink Floyd. EDM and Classic 60's and 70’s Rock. And a lot of stuff we don't even know about yet. Not big fans of country music. We grew up listening to classic rock bands. Now we're expanding into newer age music and newer folk music, particularly international music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jim: "So far I've yet to top taking three months to ride a bicycle from the Pacific to the Atlantic."
Kim: "traveling in India still tops my list."
Teach, Learn, Share
We've built a barn, raised horses, lived 3 years on a sailboat, wired a school, built computer networks, worked in graphic design and as a medical illustrator, taught the blind and disabled how to ski and ride horses, been an activist (and got arrested while doing so), learned to fly a plane, raced Hobie Cats in Baja Mexico, galloped race horses, always looking to learn more and enrich our lives. This is only the beginning....
