About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To do something for myself for a change!
ABOUT ME
I am easy going and love life. I absolutely love traveling and meeting new people. I have a random knowledge base of who knows what (thank you uncle john's bathroom reader for some of that useless trivia) and life experiences somewhat uncommon in a person my age, thus I get along really well with people older than I. Go figure. My friends and family all think I'm crazy but I think they're secretly jealous that they haven't been couchsurfing before.
PHILOSOPHY
Everyone has choices to make in life - right or wrong, commonly accepted or not. You can hate a person because of their choices, but what does it profit you? Live life and embrace your freedom to choose - and dang it, let others do the same!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love surfing and meeting new people. So far I've only been home to host one group though we've had two come through, but that's not surprising since I live in the middle of nowhere! (And by middle of nowhere I'm not kidding... there's sagebrush! Also a place out west of town called Hell's hole. I think that pretty much describes the whole valley. haha)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed with 3 different people in Seattle, 1 person in Rotterdam, a couple different people in Florida, and will hopefully be doing more in the future!
Interests
I love photography, especially just wandering down streets with my camera. It takes me to places I would otherwise never think of going. Dogs and books are pretty much God's gift to man, though I have found with my puppy that the two don't mix well when you are trying to read. I have a neighbor that used to call me a fish because I love the water. I've been swimming ever since I can remember. I used to play water polo, but it's been years. I have lots of interests and can generally find something in common with anyone.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a lot of different things. I very much dislike horror movies (so maybe I AM a bit of a scaredy cat! I get scared WAY too easily at dumb stuff like that. haha) I thoroughly enjoy most other genres: I have the LOTR trilogy extended version, but also movies like Dance With Me and Princess Bride. I was mad at the owner of the only local theater because they were playing X-men (wolverine) and Star Trek at the same time and I could only go to one. Decisions, decisions! I love music, but really not a fan of rap. I read pretty much anything, I've read lots of books from Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth, Wuthering Heights, Tom Sawyer, Fablehaven, to Alan Alda's memoirs "Things I overheard while talking to myself" and "Never have your dog stuffed." I enjoy the classics, but really prefer fantasy. Tamora Pierce is one of my favorite author and Don Quixote is probably one of my favorite books. There's nothing quite like the feeling and smell of old paper as you are reading or leafing through a book. I know I'll have to switch over to an ereader soon for my travels, but I dread the day.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on a cruise to Alaska and went snorkeling in Ketchikan. Just after getting in the water 4 orcas swam by REALLY close. AMAZING!!!
