About Me

* I usually stay with my boyfriend when couchsurfing so you can view his account hchang9 which has more references than me since I just started out *

I usually am out of town most of the time, traveling the world for new adventures and stories to tell. So far I've been to at least 10 different countries ranging from Europe to Asia and most of the major cities in the USA. My passport has seen a lot of action. I went to the School of Visual arts for university and majored in Fine Arts as a figurative painter and multi-media artist.

Recently, I moved to Pomona, California and at the moment working as a professional pet au pair and in the past have worked for a fashion company promoting and marketing towards the alternative Japanese fashion community. Also am the founding Chairman of an non-profit organization dedicated to it. Super grateful to be able to work for a living doing the things I love most.

I model for alternative clothing sometimes as well but have more passion for art directing from behind the camera. I love board games and card games like Munchkin, Dominion, and Betrayal at the House on the Hill.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I really have a deep love of classics, dystopias, Ways of Seeing by John Berger, Distinction: A Social Critique of the Judgement of Taste by Pierre Bourdieu and more thought provoking literature whatever that means to people.

Short random story, I knew someone who owned only two books: Malcolm X's biography and the Jungle Book. I still laugh uncontrollably about it to this day.

As for comics my heart will always belong to classic vintage asian guro/horror. Lets talk about Junji Ito and Suehiro Maruo forever.

Movies:
Horror and psychological thrillers are my favorite by far though, with Takashi Miike as the frontrunner s Burgers, Shitsuren Chocolatier, American Horror Story, Colbert Report, Hercule Poirot, Futurama, Cosmos, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Boondocks, and Doctor Who.

I enjoy a daily dose of informative murder documentaries. Cause knowledge is power.

Music: Generally hardstyle techno, indie and alternative rock. Sometimes asian, experimental and traditional classical music as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My funny sense of humor, warm and friendly personality, knowledge of the creative arts, painting, fashion, event planning and dogs. I could train or give you tips on training your dogs :)!

I majored in Fine Art during University so I could help my hosts with my photo editing skills, some video editing, graphic design, painting/drawing skills, home improvement (my family flipped houses my whole childhood), photography, anything creative really!

I also used to be a professional make-up artist for fashion shows and events, sew (heming and patching up holes), I can do your make-up, or style & dye hair, and do basic men's cuts if you could provide the tools and materials.

I would love to share my love to play board games and music with my host if that's something they are into as well!
