About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to make the most of every interaction- every moment. Life is meant to be lived!

ABOUT ME

I'm 25 years old and enjoying the adventure of life! I work hard, but love to travel whenever I can. I like to laugh, learn, taste, see, and explore, and I seek to do more of all those things.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm young and that is my excuse for being idealistic. There is an upside to everything and a good side to everyone. I don't worry myself with finding the good in people, I just assume it is there somewhere, even if it is hard to find. Take people for what they are. If nothing else, every interaction we have is a learning experience.
I've become pretty pessimistic (or realistic) but the above, which I wrote years ago, continues to be how I try to approach each situation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a couchsurfer I have shared my culture with others, and in return I have learned about their culture. I haven't hosted anyone yet, but will start April 2013! I am also constantly trying to recruit my friends and random people I meet to become new members!Even though I rarely meet CS folks in person, a lot can be learned through our online interactions as well

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first time couchsurfing was while I was in Ecuador. I was having trouble finding a hostel and last minute found someone in Quito willing to take me in for a couple of nights. I was nervous at first-staying alone with some random guy in a foreign country generally isn't the best idea. But hanging out with Carlos reminded me why I joined this website in the first place. We are all just a bunch of people trying to help out and maybe make some new friends around the world.
No couchsurfing experience has changed my mind.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all different kinds of movies and music, it just depends on what kind of mood I am in. Most of the music I listen to falls into the genres of classic rock, folk/bluegrass, reggae, or 60s and 80s pop music. More punk and indie music lately too.
As far as books go, I read a lot. Mostly history books, and political theory, but I enjoy a ton of other books as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing I have ever done was spend 8 weeks teaching summer school in Ecuador. During that time I saw and did various cool and exciting things.

I also just got Scuba certified!

If you want to hear about my experiences, or find out about other awesome things I've done, ask me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach people to relax, life is fun, and when it doesn't seem that way, find some humor in it. And I want other people to remind me to keep living that way.

I love Chicago and want to share my city with you!

Countries I’ve Visited
