About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To eat a whole pie in under 10 minutes. I aim high
ABOUT ME
I like to knit, read, eat, and travel. I am an eternal student - I'm currently studying autism in Montreal.
I grew up in Malaysia and moved to Canada when I was 16 for university. One thing I've learned from moving at such a great distance is that there is no "they" vs "us"; we are all weirdos. I tend to gravitate towards people who feel the same way.
San Sebastian, Spain is my favourite travel destination so far. I've yet to see many places so this would likely change.
When I travel, I do what I do at home: I meet people, I see places, and I come home for a nice cup of hot tea and a book and a bath.
My life motto: Everything is temporary, especially experiences and emotions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to go places and meet people while I'm there. HI!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed only a few times and have had friends hosted a lot of times. The few times I have surfed have been amazing - I've gotten to see parts of the city I would never have seen otherwise and heard some great stories from different people.
Interests
I enjoy making and eating food. I like to talk about food too so if we ever get caught in those oh-so-awkward lulls, just shout out a type of dessert that you like and we'll be best friends again.
I also like to travel, surprisingly.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy watching movies with people but I have the attention span of a 5-year-old so usually I can take the first ten minutes of a movie before switching to another movie. Unless it's a very entertaining movie. Like the following:
Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, The Matrix, etc.
Books - I enjoy Margaret Atwood and Jonathan Safran Foer. The more depressing the books the better. I don't care much for Austens though. I don't know why most assume I do just because I'm literate. I read non-fiction too, mostly on the brain and how magical it is.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Biked my first 100+k around QC June 2011
- Amazing Stars performances every year
- Baked my first successful cake March 2012
- Surfed in Costa Rica at dawn around stingrays
- River-surfed in Montreal
Teach, Learn, Share
I can knit and cook and I want to learn French. I recently learned how to solve the Rubik's cube so we can have a Rubik's cube party if you wish.
