Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am a student of life, a writer, a teacher, and a traveler
ABOUT ME
If it's summer, you'll probably find me in Beijing where I work at a language school in recruitment, teacher training, and molding young minds into Eloquent English story-tellers. If it's not summer, you'll likely find me in Minneapolis where I am also molding older minds as an English professor at a community college, writing stories or poems, and kicking it around town.
Update: I am in Beijing right now despite where my login says. I use a vpn to log on.
PHILOSOPHY
Baudelaire said, "one must always be drunk...drunk on wine, poetry, or virtue, but one must always be drunk." I like that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been participating in Couch Surfing since about 2004 when I surfed my first couch in Glasgow, Scotland. I have been an active member ever since, both surfing and hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love the beautiful possibility of CouchSurfing. I have met wonderful people, fantastically weird people and even kind of boring people. And they come from all over the world and they share couches in every country. It's really quite amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books
the arts are the only truth in life, everything else can be denied, rejected, or destroyed, but art is pure, indestructible
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Too many images flashing through my mind to name one.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to tap into a lot of different things. I probably have a thing or two to teach about creative writing and the English language. I love to learn about food, culture anything fun and DIY that makes people thrive.
