About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to begin the next adventure

ABOUT ME

"Laura is very down to earth. She is extremely honest - no pretense. My favorite thing about her is her appreciation of adventure - it makes for the best travel companion. Situations that make most people angry or cry would make her laugh. Chill and real or really chill. That's Laura in a nutshell." - written by Jenn, a fellow Boo Kiwi Traveler.

PHILOSOPHY

The following may appear to be a pretentiously, pathetic attempt at being intellectual, but it's not. It's an attempt to portray a (hopefully) clear self-analysis without the pollutants of specificity...'and now for something different' -monty python

The more habitual an activity in my life becomes, the more distanced I become during that activity, which in turn, makes it difficult for me to arrive at scheduled times, in the physical and mental sense.

Also, once I make the assumption (yes, I mean 'assumption' because reality has decided sometimes to surprise my perceptions) that I can predict the outcome of a situation, I completely lose interest. So, I choose to: distance myself from it or attempt to change its path or replace it.

These traits have strengths and flaws and are mad vague. Yet, one definite certainty is that I feel my best (lively, exhilirated and present) when something spontaneous/alternative occurs.

Surprise can be a best friend or worst enemy. ..however..the constant is that..
Surprise will always remind you that you are alive.

Interests

-people, especially they're perceptions and finding out what life experiences shaped them
-books, movies, and shows which have mystery or sci-fi
-researching and learning a lot about anything that sparks my interest (for example, my laptop was having issues a few months ago and I became so interested in learning more about how computers work, I learned about coding, environment variables, and other extremes. Always good to surprise a cpu nerd with my knowledge and skills)
-rpg, logic, and puzzle games
-conversations with people stereotypically placed in the extreme left or right side of viewpoints (ie religion, politics, ethics, and so on)
-learning about systems of law and governance especially how and why the current ones of any society, nation-state, or cultural group came to be how it is today

Music, Movies, and Books

"It was a place of brilliant sunlight, never undappled Shafts of lemon-gold brilliance lanced down to the forest floor between bars and pools of brown-green shade; and the light was never still, never constant, because drifting mist would often float among the treetops, filtering all the sunlight to a pearly sheen and brushing every pine cone with moisture that glistened when the mist lifted. Sometimes the wetness in the clouds condensed into tiny drops half-mist and half-rain, which floated downward rather than fell, making a soft rustling patter among the millions of needles.' -Pullman
