About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world through my own eyes, untainted by TV, radio or newspapers...

ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as very active and highly motivated to travel far and wide. The only thing holding me back is full time permanent employment, though I might start thinking of alternatives to this if the travel bug bites any harder! I love being free, having nothing, meeting people, seeing places, learning about history, how everything fits together in our world. I CouchSurf as much as I can, not just to keep costs down, but to meet people, which brings places to life. There's nothing worse than leaving a place with questions in your head and no-one to answer them.

I think others might describe me as laid back and easy going, not much surprises, or shocks me. Though I can be very passionate about the things in life I really care about. I am German, but I lived in Africa 12 years (9 years Malawi and 3 years Botswana).

My Heart is still in Africa!!

PHILOSOPHY

What goes around comes around. We treat people as we would like to be treated ourselves.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today - you may enjoy it and have time to do it again. On the other hand if you don't enjoy it you can then go on to find something you do.

If something bothers you, change it. If you can't change it, change your perspective about it. For all the rest, just enjoy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CS meetings and surfing and hosting..
--> Love everything about CS!

It is a blast meeting new people. I have enjoyed all that have passed through my door.

By being a part of interesting and mutually inspiring interactions with the people who cross my path

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted and surfed a few times. - Wonderful people and wonderful experiences!

CS meetings a must! I enjoyed all my experiences and would like to visit all the places (people:-)) I've been to again!

Interests

I'm interested in how things work. How people have moved around, how history has influenced the present, how cultures have grown and fallen, how ideas have spread.
I'm interested in a lot of stuff, especially traveling and hiking, meeting new people and sharing travel stories. I like reading, drinking, writing, eating and I'm quite good at sleeping too.

OH - AND ICE CREAM OF COURSE...!! ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

1. My own experiences have showed me this truth: Things will always work out. If you put yourself into a position where you're on the edge and you need some kind of assistance, that assistance will be there. be assured, if it isn't, there is a very good reason for that too. So have faith and fear no adventure. Fly fearless of the storms.
2. Never think of what you can get back as a bar for judging how to treat people. Treat every single person you meet with exactly as much respect as you yourself would like to receive from the world. Don't think of karma, or what you can get later, or payback. This is so important and so fundamental, that it saddens me how many people forget this one!
