Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So I don't have to spend a lot on hostels to be honest but also because it's fun to see the cities I travel to in the eyes of a real resident from there. I'm not looking for a cliche experience...but a real one.

I am couchsurfing to get the best feel for your culture, to get the roots of it... not to get a boring, touristy experience, but more so, a raw, authentic one.

Interests

coffee shops are my favorite, rock climbing, camping, dancing, ceramics, knitting. I love to meet new people. I love learning new languages. Currently trying to teach myself Portuguese, French, Galician, and Italian.

As the Spaniards say "Poco a Poco"...Little by little.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed the Sierra de Cogollo in a town close to Granada...it was my first mountain climbing experience. It was 3 years ago in 2012, but it feels just like yesterday.

That day I learned what the phrase "en carne viva" is..."with raw flesh" pretty much which is what you get on your hands from rock climbing all day! Great experience! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I like Mexican food so I cook it a lot. I make a mean guacamole. I also love making tostadas, enchiladas, etc. I also have Indian roots so I love my food spicy and I add indian spices to everything. I can teach the few tricks of the trade that I've learned over the years.

I also can teach you phrases from different languages I speak. I know a lot of random phrases in Arabic especially, Hindi, Spanish, and English. I may also pop out with some Galician phrases here and there and not even realize it :P

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a meal perhaps or get us coffee or drinks a few times.
