ABOUT ME
Couchsurfing won't let me change my name, so I'll tell you here that my name is David and not Aftiti (an Ivorian nickname). I am now living in London after 3 years in rural Malawi and Bulgaria. I have never lived in a big city before and I am surprised how much I am enjoying it.
I work for an International Development charity and also train healthcare workers for INGOs. Sometimes life can be very busy, but other times I am free to show people around, cook, chat, walk and all the other things I love and like to share. I have to travel a lot for my job so there is a strong chance that when you want to visit, I will not be home :(
Also, I LOVE Roger Federer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing for me is a community. This means that people are welcome to make any request and then I can decide whether to accept or decline. Some people have very strong ideas of what couchsurfing is, but for me its all about the personal exchanges and every couchsurfing meeting will be determined by those who are organising it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Reading my references people may think that everyone just writes positive things about their surfers, but honestly I have had amazing people come and stay, and encourage anyone to host!
Interests
Cooking (theres nothing I love more than cooking for others), cycling everywhere, reading (I even read while I walk), plants, exercise, walking anywhere and chatting, learning from other cultures. I also love candle light!
