About Me

I'm an undergraduate student from Wisconsin! I'm a double major in Computer Science and Vocal Performance. I am also a Baritone with Madison Opera and am hoping to continue my career and education in Boston this fall.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to explore the world and experience different cultures! I'm also planning on leaving Wisconsin at the end of the summer so I'm looking to get the feel of different cities before I make a final decision.

Interests

Music, theatre, computers, literature, movies, writing poetry, web design, food, politics, philosophy.. honestly I love pretty much everything and anything. I could definitely envision myself working in most any field and still loving it.

My true passions, however, lie with music and technology. I am currently in the fledgling baby years of my professional opera career.

Aside from my music passions, I also love technology and programming. Right now I'm developing and designing a quote app for iOS (https://quotieapp.com) as well as a networking and management platform for actors and theatre companies.

I love discussing topics of all types. Nothing is too crazy or scandalous or "against my beliefs". I believe that everything and anything can be talked about as long as both sides are willing to be honest, kind, and respectful!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Sufjan Stevens, Sun Kil Moon, Perfume Genius, Opera (Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Dead Man Walking), Musical Theatre (some examples; Bonnie and Clyde, Nine, Aspects of Love, Miss Saigon, Follies, A Chorus Line).

Movies: The Godfather, Harry Potter (all of them, but I'm partial to the fifth), and foreign films. I love going to the Wisconsin Film Fest. Some favorites include Marie's Story, Timbuktu, The Farewell Party, Free Fall, Capturing Grace, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Montage of Heck, The Keeping Room, Uncle John, and In Order of Disappearance. They're all worth watching. Trust me!

Books: Ooh. Catch-22, 1984, and of course all the Harry Potter books. I am a fan of dense, hard to understand, and metaphorical or allegorical texts. The weirder and more meaningful the book is, the better :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sung in the pickup chorus for the Broadway Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when they came to Madison, WI in 2007.

And also sang with Kristin Chenoweth in Madison when she came in September of 2015.

That's two things.. oh well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that there is nothing more important than passion. Anyone who is passionate can teach, learn, and share. I am incredibly passionate about many things and I hope I can teach what I love, learn more about what others love, and share my love so that others may love as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My passion for life and music. I love living and try to live as fully as possible. I can promise you that if we get started on the right topic, we will be able to have the most meaningful and amazing discussions.
