I think it should be obligatory to leave a reference to everyone you've had any interaction with. Most people have positive references although it's not always like this. I stayed at this guy in Alicante last year who gave me his keys and said I could do whatever I wanted. We went out together once and it was rather rubbish than a good time. The girl in Warsaw did exactly the same. And there was this girl who visited me last year and was behaving as if she was a princess. Nightmare..

People seem to have strange ideas of what couchsurfing should be like. If I wanted to go to a hotel I'd do so. But I'm looking for a couch to meet someone new, interesting, to learn something about them, their culture etc.
